Day 81 - Cheap Groceries!

We were in desperate need of fruit (we've been out for 2 days and I've been craving it like crazy!) so I decided to run to Ralph's really quick. We do 99% of our grocery shopping at the commissary and I am planning on going full on grocery shopping tomorrow but I wanted fruit TONIGHT. I'm so happy I went! Today is the last day that they are going to be open at that location so they were having an awesome sale!! I only wish I had known about it sooner because the store was half empty already. The produce was super cheap and everything else (besides the twizzlers and puffcorn) was also on sale AND I had a coupons for them! So here is what I got (not in the order that the picture shows, I'm typing it from the receipt.)

Eggs, puffcorn, cream cheese, 3 bags of red grapes, a bag of salad, broccoli, bananas, honeycrisp apples, fuji apples, twizzlers, orange juice, turkey sausage, and 2 boxes of pepperoni.

The bold items were not on sale.

Can anybody guess what I paid out of pocket for it all?

...
...

$8.69!!! *dies* I saved 47.98! (They didn't charge me sales tax so that helped too!)

Ok, ok, that's a little misleading. I only paid $8.69 out of pocket... but I did have a $16 voucher that they sent me for our award points from when we used to shop there. The bottom of the recipet still says I saved $47.68 but if you take that $16 away then I saved $31.68.

I am super stoked so I had to share!! If I could have bought more I would have but like I said the store was already pretty much picked through. I would have loved to stock up on chicken and ground turkey (it was all 50% off) but their meat section was practically empty. Their grand opening at their new store (which is almost right next store to the old one) is tomorrow, I wonder what kind of sales they are going to have! Obviously it won't be as good as what I found tonight but I will definitely be checking it out.

  1. Awesome! I love sales like that! Isn't it so much fun when you save that much money? I can see why all the extreme couponers on TV have a huge stockpile. It can get addicting! lol
