Today me and Dave finished the first week of the Couch to 5K program. YAY! I'm so glad that we have the weekend to rest (although we'll probably still go on a long walk tomorrow morning) before we start week two because today SUCKED! I'm not sure what happened but my legs were killing me. I should have taken a picture of my legs instead of my shoes--my shoes (and my feet) were fine, it was my legs that were the problem--but I haven't shaved in two or three days so that wouldn't have been a very pretty picture. Anyway, I'm not sure how I did it but I was able to finish the entire 20 minutes (30 if you count the warm up and cool down) but immediately after we were finished, once I started to slow down a bit, is when my legs really started hurting. Dave had me sit down on a bench to stretch and I honestly thought he was going to have to call an ambulance or something because I didn't think there was any way I was going to be able to get back up. I was in so much pain! Thankfully I was able to get up and slowly walk home. And I was able to walk it out because by the time we got home I felt a million times better, still a little sore but not in pain.
Since I did post a picture of my shoes I'm going to talk about them a bit. :) First of all I really need to buy better running shoes. And I will... eventually. But I like the ones I have now because they have pink on them. I'm a little obsessed with the color pink and I can't remember the last pair of tennis shoes that I bought without some pink on them. I'm thinking that it is probably going to be hard to find good running shoes that I think are cute too, so I've decided that when I do get my new running shoes (eventually) I'm buying pink shoelaces for them. ♥
